CineAlta Venice Emotion In Every Frame

Alexander recently attended the CineAlta Venice Emotion In Every Frame event at Sony Picture Studios at the Sony Digital Motion Picture Center in Culver City. Alexander attended the official release of the Sony CineAlta Venice Camera at the Cary Grant Theater at Sony Picture Studios. Sony using a somewhat inconsistent combination of letters and numbers for its camera throughout the Sony F5, F55, F65 and FS7 don't seem to line up in a tidy row like one might hope, instead Sony has broken the tradition for its latest and greatest, which was chosen to be called VENICE. VENICE, Sony has developed a brand new full frame 36 x 24mm sensor as the centerpiece for the camera system, which is far larger than the Super 35mm sensor from the previous flagship the Sony F65. They Key features will come with a standard PL Mount which can later be swapped out for a E Mount. VENICE works around existing and established Cine Alta Workflows which means 10bit interval XAVC recording to SXS Cards or 16bit RAW X-OCN via an external recorder. The assistant display is now exceptionally similar to the Panasonic Varicam and ARRI ALEXA interfaces which should make it relatively easier for crews switching platform to platform, with only RED continuing to push its own menu system at the high end. Some features of the new VENICE Camera will be licensed, meaning you'll pay extra to open up the Anamorphic and 6K Modes in the camera. Sony shall be offering licenses in a variety of timeframes, as short as a week, which should make them affordable and perhaps an expense covered for the production looking for those special formats. The camera includes 15 stops of dynamic range as well. The camera will offer 4096x2160 to 60fps and 6038x4032 to 24fps, 4096x3432 Anamorphic available by license.
